The FTP, in collaboration with its Austrian National Support Group, EFI, EFPRO and Innovawood, will organise a so-called joint partnering event for development of projects under the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme for research and development (FP7). The event will be held in Vienna, Austria, on Friday May 15, 2009 (10.00-16.00 hrs).
Goal
The event offers a unique opportunity to obtain actual information on tentative topics of the next calls for proposals under FP7 based on the official input from the FTP. Participants can present ideas for EU-projects and discuss them with potential partners. They will also have the opportunity to give feedback and to support and supplement each other's ideas. Usually such events are starting points for building consortia and core planning teams in order to submit research proposals later.
Participants
Partners from European Union member states and from associated countries (Norway, Israel, Switzerland, ...) can fully participate in FP7 projects. Representatives from enterprises (large or small and medium sized), from universities, private or public research institutes or public bodies, who are interested in participating in a research project, are welcome to this partnering event.
Topics
New calls for project proposals concerning collaborative research to be funded under FP7 are expected to be launched at the end of June 2009. This partnering event is dedicated to calls of the thematic priorities 2 ‘Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology', 4 "Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production Technologies', 5 ‘Energy' and 6 ‘Environment (incl. Climate Change) (as far as information on the tentative content has become available).
How it works
Partnering events are ideal platforms for people, working in similar areas, to meet, discuss and even start ideas for proposals. Events like this provide project coordinators with an opportunity to discuss project ideas with potential partners, so that consortia can be set up or strengthened, and proposal preparation can be supported.
The partnering event is structured into 3 parts:
- introduction (specifics on call topics, overview of already funded FP7 projects in our sector),
- presentation of project ideas by participants (max. 5 min. each) and
- pre-arranged partnering meetings (2 rounds).
Venue and time
The event will takes place on Friday May 15, 2009 (10:00 - 16:00) at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, located at Stubenring 1, Vienna, Austria (Conference Room 2). You can find more information about the venue here.
Registration
The participants fee is 50 €. The fee covers lunch and coffee breaks. Those who are interested are asked to complete the registration form (which will become available here) and forward it to the organiser by April 30, 2009. The organiser needs this information to prepare the partnering event. Registered participants will receive more information on coming calls after registration.
Payments
Payments should be made after confirmed registration or cash at the event. Further information will be provided to those registered.
Accommodation
Participants should book their hotel room directly with the hotel (see list of hotels).
